Mayflower hosts annual food drive to help families during holiday season

Mayflower families participated in their annual food drive to help 14 anonymous families during this Thanksgiving season.

“This is a long-standing tradition at Mayflower, serving families from our school community for over 25 years!  We always have such tremendous participation, which allows us to serve several of our Mayflower families in need,” said Principal Michele Costarella.

Each classroom had a different type of food to collect, such as rice, cereal, canned meat, and other non-perishable items.

Once collected, Mayflower Renaissance students helped sort the items into individual bags for the families to take home.

“We are grateful to our PTA, who supports this event every year, and our student leadership teams, who help with the collection and sorting of items,” Costarella said. “The families who receive our food boxes are so grateful and appreciative.”

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s food drive!
